Personal Final Report: Review of the Term

Everything has its end and so is the database course. But the final lecture for the reports of our plug-ins doesn’t mean the end of learning database – data are everywhere in life and what the most important is that we should know how to use things we learned from the course after class and even till our life.         Though the number of blog entries is enough before the final-exam weeks comes, it is still necessary for me to make an additional blog at the end of the term after tests…See More

System Architecture & the Future of Application Development

Last week, the last two groups gave us a wonderful lecture about the system architecture. This topic is very difficult because it is quite abstract and it needs a summing up of the contents of all the topics we have discussed about in database course.         A most important characteristic of architecture is that it does not change when it is being use. Hence, a good system architecture design should consider the factors of the system include the time, space, uncertainty, etc. In this…See More

Review of the Lecture

This week, our group made a further discussion about Transaction based on the last group. I’m so proud of my partners that we really have tried our best when preparing and had a great performance in the lecture. Though the content of transaction is abstract and difficult to understand indeed, we tried and overcame such a barrier by hard-working.          I did the painting, characters design, and style design and merging of the PPT slides for the presentation. All of these links to the…See More

A Review of Concept of Transaction

Since one of two lectures of transaction has finished, and next week our group IDEATA would give a lecture of the second part of transaction, which would be more application-oriented, it’d better to have a simple review of What Transaction is.  -Database Management System (DBMS)        First of all we should know what a Database…See More

Data Storage and Version Control

Version Control is strongly linked with both data storage, which is talked last week, and transaction, which will be talked in our team’s lecture. Thanks to the lecture of Data Storage in Week 11, we have a view of how data stored and how we can use the data in devices. Hence, I will introduce the Version Control and its data storage in this blog before our team’s talking about transaction, mostly based on Subversion (SVN). Why we need Version Control?         During our course, how…See More
